Do you have a boat or have access to one? If so and it's got enough power to pull someone, then you have to get one of these recommended towables for summer.
A few months ago I bought a boat, nothing fancy but it has a big wake. We bought a ring and it was fun for a few hours round the lake.
That's when I started looking for the best water sport towables Australia had to offer.
Ever since I decided I wanted a boat, I always thought about having a banana boat to pull my children and wife behind while I listened to some beats on the boat.
After months of searching, I found the Airhead Hot Dog which comes in a range of sizes from 2 to 6 persons.
The 3 person is a nice size, not too large and reasonably priced. I struggled to find the product in Australian stores but thankfully it was available on Amazon.com.au with free international shipping. They even cover the GST and import taxes for you as well.
My family loves the Airhead Hot Dog 3 person which is why it gets my vote as the best towable on offer. It's robust, durable, hasn't broken yet and I've been throwing people off for the last few months.
When summer rolls around again, it will only get more action.
Other towables I tried included a wide range of models by SPORTSTUFF which in my opinion make some of the best towables Australia has to offer.
Again this is primarily an international brand buy Amazon Australia offers free delivery on all their product range.
The Poparazzi is a great towable for large families. We managed to fit 5 small kids in there when my kids friends came to the lake.
Best Water Sport Towables Australia
You can buy water sport towables from many different retailers. We found all ours on Amazon.com.au which offers fast free shipping all most products.
1. AIRHEAD Hot Dog 3-Person
Looking for a water sports towable that’s suitable and safe for younger kids or older adults? The AIRHEAD Hot Dog is one that may well do the job.
The Hot Dog is a 3-person water sports inflatable towable with three neoprene seat pads and two deluxe foam-filled nylon-wrapped handles with knuckle guards to protect your hands and ensure a comfortable ride. There are also EVA Foam Pads to protect knees and elbows.
The Hot Dog has three 30-gauge vinyl air chambers which are double-stitched with nylon for durability. Its rope hookups are equipped with heavy-duty Kwik-Connect for easy and secure attachment. The bladder is made from a heavy-duty K80 PVC which is fully encased in a zipper-closed double-stitched nylon cover.
The seams are RF welded for added strength. It has Boston valves for inflating and deflating, all of which are positioned on one side of the towable, not only for convenience but so it can be rolled up for transporting and storage. You can use a 12v toy inflator for this big toy.
Measuring 103” (L) x 44” (W) deflated it’s pretty big when inflated and very comfortable for three users. The Hot Dog is so light that it can be towed by a larger jet ski. Half the fun is trying to stay on the Hot Dog. Its shape defies you to!!
2. SportsStuff Chariot Warbird 2
Designed to be seated in like an armchair with wide side wings, the Chariot Warbird 2 sets a challenge for the user to stay in it over the wildest of wakes.
The high backrest, EVA foam seating pad and double webbed foam handles with knuckle guards will secure you in place pretty well as the Chariot is towed at speed over the wake of a boat or jet ski.
The challenge though is to stay on when the going gets tough with whips and turns over a bumpy wake or sea waves.
To create a different experience from the Chariot Warbird 2 you can switch the dual towrope points to the rear so that the towable is travelling in the opposite direction. And when it’s time for a break from tubing the Chariot Warbird can be used as a relaxing floating lounge chair.
The Chariot Warbird is quickly and easily inflated, deflated and hooked up with Speed Safety Valves and aluminium Quick Connect.
The product measures 78” x 90” deflated, and 80” x 96” inflated.
This is a perfect stable tube for younger riders especially. The experience can be made wilder for the more experienced by turning the tow points around and/or by using the boat to swing the Chariot over the wake or the waves.
3. SportsStuff Poparazzi
Big enough to fit six small kids at once, the Poporazzi is a tube which will give endless fun on the water. It will hold three adults.
It is a BIG towable.
Climb inside the Poparazzi tube and hang on for the ride of your life, or lives rather. Designed with a high winged shape and a rocker bottom it allows the riders to carve the tube into the wake as well as glide across the water with minimal drag.
When the boat turns, and the tube lifts off the wake the riders on the bottom will be deep in the wake while the others will rise high above it!
The Poparazzi has multiple EVA foam body pads for the comfort of multiple riders in a variety of positions in the tube.
The High Rise Tower above the base is fitted out with many double webbed foam handles with knuckle guards so you can stand on the back deck of the paparazzi and ride in that position.
Make your choice of position each time. You can stand, kneel, sit, lie down, steer, balance or freestyle on the fabulous Poparazzi.
The towable is quickly and easily inflated, deflated and hooked up with Speed Safety Valves and aluminium Quick Connect. The bladder is a heavy-duty K80 PVC, the removable zippered cover is a heavy-duty nylon, and all handles are comfortable double webbed with knuckle guards.
4. SportsStuff Half Pipe Rampage
The Half Pipe Rampage is a classically simple towable tube from the same brand as the previous two models.
The Half Pipe Rampage is quickly and easily inflated, deflated and hooked up with Speed Safety Valves and aluminium Quick Connect.
The bladder is a heavy-duty K80 PVC, the removable zippered cover is a heavy-duty nylon, and all handles are comfortable double webbed with knuckle guards.
It is covered with bright safety graphics.
The Half Pipe Rampage is a very versatile tube. Teenagers enjoy the challenge of staying on it while the boat whips it around, although the design is perfect for ‘doughnuts’ because of the rigid vertical sides which keep the rider on the tube while the tube is moving all over the place on the water and in the wake.
The Rampage is easily manoeuvred on the water and tends to have less ‘dumps’ than many other towables do.
A more sedate ride for younger kids and adults is easily managed. It’s all in the control of the person driving the boat. The Rampage can be used as a lounger when it’s time for a break.
The towable is durable and sturdy. It’s also very large once inflated so it can fit several people at once but is recommended for 2 people.
5. AIRHEAD G-Force Rider
Big enough to take up to four riders at once, the AIRHEAD G-Force Rider is fitted out with six comfortable and durable nylon-wrapped handles with neoprene knuckle guards.
It also has boarding straps for easier mounting from the water, and topside fins for stabilising while the tube is whipping around in turns in the water and on the wake. Try pulling two of the G-Force Riders to amuse more people at once!
The G-Force Rider features a Kwik Connect for easy hookups and a patented Speed Safety Valve for quick and easy inflation and deflation.
All core seams are double-stitched for safety and durability, and the bladder has a removable tough denier nylon cover if you need to repair a leak in the bladder.
The tube measures 56x46x24cm deflated making it easy to transport and store.
The G-Force Rider offers hours of fun on the water for young and old alike. It’s versatile enough to be safe for the younger (and older) members of the group, and with some extra speed and sharp turns by the tower, it can be made to be a pretty exciting ride for the more athletic among you. And then it can serve as a relaxing lounge in the sun.
Finding the best water sports towable has been made much easier with Amazon's international shipping program. Brands that have been expensive to get hold of, or have never arrived here are now in reach.
After much deliberation I believe the Airhead Hotdog is the best fun you can have on the water this summer.
