Got yellow teeth or bad breath and hate it? I don’t blame you, I was the same once. That’s when my dentist suggested I try some of these teeth whitening toothpastes and treatments.
Being a reviewer, I thought I would document the process and what I thought about each one, where I bought them and most importantly whether I’d recommend them to others or not.
Before you rush out and buy a teeth whitening kit that may or may not work, or book an expensive dental visit, checkout these best teeth whitening toothpastes and treatments available in Australia.
Best Teeth Whitening Australia
1. Oral-B 3D White Whitestrips
The most popular and best product we reviewed was Oral-B’s White Whitesrips product which comes in a 14 or 28 pack (1 pack includes upper and lower strips, i.e. total 56). The 28 pack is far more beneficial in terms of value so we’d recommend choosing that one and save money.
Most users will start to see results in 5 days as they remove tough coffee, wine and smoking stains while visibly whitening your teeth. Whitestrips are simple to use, simply peel, apply and they are completely safe.
Oral-B 3D Whitestrips are commonly used by people who want an upgrade from toothpaste without going to a teeth whitening kit.
After testing this product which we bought through Amazon for two weeks the results were pretty impressive. My teeth are actually quite sensitive and I had no issues applying and removing the strips. Within a few days my teeth were visibly whiter.
2. Oral-B 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste
Despite looking like a women’s beauty product, the Oral-B 3D White Brilliance is a two step, daily cleansing and whitening system, suitable for everyone. After four weeks of daily use, over 99% of users will notice a much whiter smile.
The product should be used alongside your standard tooth paste and comes with a deep cleansing tooth paste and whitening finisher. You’ll definitely be able to feel the difference after the first few uses.
After using this product for two weeks I can say hands down it makes you feel like you’ve come out of the hygienist at the dentist without spending a fortune. I noticed my teeth were whiter and my mouth felt much more fresh and cool (does it make sense? If not try it and you’ll see what I mean.)
3. Colgate Optic White Toothpaste
Until recently the thought of spending so much for a tube of tooth paste would have caused me to think twice but the Colgate Optic White Sparkling White was recommended to me by a dentist who said it’s probably the best tooth paste on the market for those looking for whiter teeth without strips, charcoal powders or whitening kits.
According to my dentist it’s one of the only Australian toothpastes that is recommended by dentists to remove surface stains and deeply set in stains that regular pastes simply can’t remove. For the technical folk it comes with a fluoride formula for daily anti-cavity protection and is enamel safe too.
After two weeks of using this tooth paste I did notice some visible difference but nothing compared to the other four products mentioned in this article. I guess it’s an ongoing process and can be used alongside the strips and charcoal for added impact.
I nearly choked when I saw how much this 140g tube was at the supermarket. Make sure you buy it online with Amazon.
4. Aimnaturals Charcoal Powder
Aimnaturals lays claim to fame of being the #1 charcoal teeth whitening kit on Amazon Canada, USA and soon to be Australia. You can pick up your own kit from Amazon.com.au with same day delivery (where available). Free from artificial flavors, this 100% natural chemical free powder should be used daily before your normal brushing routine.
If you’re like me, you’ll probably want to get a second tooth brush as it will go black pretty quickly. Also make sure you continue brushing with normal toothpaste as it’s not a replacement for high quality tooth paste.
Clinical trials have shown that regular use of activated charcoal will result in a glowing smile and whiter teeth while eliminating bad breath. Aimnaturals claims it’s a far more affordable option to buying whitening strips.
I admit I was skeptical especially seeing many Australian Insta celebs promoting this product but after two weeks I can confirm I did notice some impressive results. The first few times required getting used to the gritty sensation but that should be expected given it’s charcoal!
5. Genkent Advanced Strips
If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to Oral-B 3D then you should consider Genkent Advanced Teeth Whitening Stips which come in a 14 day supply (total 28 strips for 14 days use). They work in a similar way to Oral-B and feature 6% hydrogen peroxide and double elastic for increased power.
Some users will notice their teeth appear visibly whiter within 30 minutes of applying and removing the strips however you should expect to wait up to 14 days for improved results.
After testing this product which we bought through Amazon for two weeks the results weren’t as great as the Oral-B. Regardless at 50% cheaper it’s up to you whether you want the absolute best (at a premium price) or the budget brand.

Each product was tested over a random two week period throughout 6 months in mid 2018. They weren’t used one after each other as this would be an unfair review.
